Maybe I’ve been inspired by all the gift wrapping that I’ve been doing lately butthis bow neck sweater from J. Crewhas been one of my favorite pieces to wear over the past few weeks (and was at the top of my packing list for the holidays!). I love how the simple black bow at the neck adds a really fun touch to an otherwise simple gray sweater and it’ssosoft and works really well worn on its own orlayered with an oxford.

Velvet seems to be making a serious comeback right now and I couldn’t help butgrab a pair of Madewell’s high-rise skinny jeans in a black velvet– they feel dressy enough for holiday parties but still fit as well as their denim and have just the right amount of stretch to ’em. Paired withmy all-time favorite M. Gemi patent pumpsand a pop of red witha pair of BaubleBar tassel earringsand the look says holiday season without beingtooover the top.
